A socially deprived international student, living in New York City, finds herself isolated from the world. She finds comfort in visiting apartments with rooms for rent, but a compulsive kleptomania disorder threatens her chances of being normal. It takes the unexpected and random act of kindness by a stranger to remind her another way of living may exist.

THE ROOMMATES

Short film, 10mins

The Roommates is about two roommates who share an apartment in Brooklyn. The main concept of the film lies on the emotional changes and responses between the two who actually represent differences in male and female psychological status. The French guy in his early 30s; a musician stays in the apartment as a visitor with the Korean girl; a freelancer designer. Through careful observations, the guy slowly develops his interest in the girl. Interestingly, the girl’s major concern is ‘herself’ not any relationships with anyone meanwhile the guy’s emotional changes are purely based on the girl’s reaction.
